Tender opportunity – EOG events app24 March 2017
The EOG is seeking an agency or individual to develop a bespoke events app for the association.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new member of our executive team. Arne Strate has joined the association in the role of head of marketing and business development.
Arne Strate, from Germany, has been working in marketing for 13 years and has held roles as marketing manager with Reef and Volcom. He joins the EOG from boardsports brand Volcom, where he was responsible for the company’s marketing in Germany and Austria for a decade.
Arne Strate comments:
“This is an exciting role and I am very much looking forward to working with my new colleagues at the EOG, and our members. Outdoor has developed into one of the most dynamic and interesting sectors in business, and the association has become very effective at representing and promoting the industry. However, the EOG still has plenty of potential to grow as an organisation, as well as building on the success of initiatives like #itsgreatoutthere and the European Outdoor Summit.”
Mark Held, EOG general secretary, adds:
“Arne has excellent credentials and with his background he also brings a new perspective to the EOG. As the association continues to grow, Arne’s role is going to be very important in helping us to achieve our objectives on the international stage. We are working on some major projects, so I am very pleased that we have a full team of experienced professionals here to deliver those for the benefit of EOG members and the wider outdoor industry.”
The EOG now has six permanent members of staff, three more than at the start of 2013. Led by general secretary Mark Held, the EOG team also includes market research manager Pauline Shepherd, CSR and sustainability manager Pamela Ravasio, and events manager Penny Taylor, supported by office manager Lucy Ryan and external website, PR and design agencies.
