Andrew Denton and Arne Arens are well known in the outdoor sector.

Andrew Denton has been working in the outdoors since 1984, starting his career in outdoor education and then moving on to a series of senior management and ownership roles in businesses such as Rohan, Mountain Equipment, Sprayway, the Outdoor Sports Company and now climbing walls. Andrew has been CEO of the Outdoor Industries Association since 2011 and has transformed the association into an influential and dynamic organisation that sets the industry agenda in the UK and is listened to by the highest level of government in the country.

Arne Arens has spent most of his career in sporting goods, starting with Nike, and has been with The North Face for the past six years, operating out of the European Headquarters in Lugano, Switzerland. Arne is passionate about (outdoor) sports like running and skiing, and is also a big fan of Futbol Club Barcelona.

Andrew and Arne will set the scene for one of the main topics of the summit: the huge opportunity to increase outdoor participation in Europe, a vital subject considering the increasing levels of inactivity in both adults and children. Finding new and innovative ways to get people outside and get them active while enjoying nature is an urgent challenge for society as a whole, and of course particularly for the collective outdoor industry.  Andrew and Arne are active members of our promotion of outdoor participation working group. Andrew led the OIA's Britain on Foot campaign, which succeeded in uniting the UK outdoor industry and influencing national government policy setting, and Arne offers a pan-European perspective on brand development and consumer engagement. Together, they are very well qualified to join up the agendas on this subject with presentations that reflect the priorities of individual companies, the EOG, the wider outdoor and sporting goods industry, and politicians.

Networking app partnership with Myagi

The EOG is delighted to have teamed up with Myagi, the innovative online learning network for retail sales associates, in order to develop and launch a new networking app in time for #EOS2016. With 300 senior executives attending the summit, even the most organised person will find it a challenge to find a way to meet all of the right people or listen to the most relevant speakers over the two days. Yet we all know about the importance of making sure that time at events such as EOS delivers results, and effective networking is an important element of achieving that.

The dedicated EOS app is compatible with iOS and Android platforms and will offer delegates:
