Once again, ISPO BEIJING proved to be a very busy and successful show and celebrated its 10th anniversary with record attendance figures. Almost 30,000 industry professionals visited the show, a growth of 8% on 2013. Among the 637 brands that exhibited (compared to 567 last year) were many from the outdoor sector, including several that were there for the first time. The EOG team attended the show and used their time there to meet with association members, other outdoor businesses, and colleagues from the Asia-Pacific region.

Outdoor is a key component of ISPO BEIJING and continues to grow in China as a whole. Although that growth has slowed, the EOG’s discussions with COCA (China Outdoor Commerce Alliance) and other partners confirm that it is still in double digits, with the biggest danger being an over-stock of apparel. During the show, ISPO announced plans to also host a summer show in China, starting in 2015. We will report further news of those plans when they emerge.
