A new element brings in external speakers to help everyone understand more about sustainability and how it can fit into our businesses, covering everything from new legislation and new fibres to how to write a sustainability report. Everyone is welcome to attend but please register.
New Structure
In late 2011 a new structure was put in place for the SWG ensuring its ability to grow and adapt to fit the industry’s needs:
Advisory Panel – a small advisory group, who will be invited by the EOG to stimulate discussion about the work being done, and the possible projects the group could become involved in.
Management Group – made up of the chair and one or two highly engaged members of each committee. Invited by the EOG to join on a one-year basis, beginning at ISPO 2012 it will work with the Advisory Panel and the EOG, to agree the plan and set the working agenda for the SWG, ensuring topics are made relevant to the membership and the industry at large.
The existing Groups (Standards and Regulations; End of Life; Communications) will undergo some changes including further development of the SIGNS Tool ensuring its fit with the industry’s requirements. In addition the Standards and Regulations Group will work ever more closely with the sports industry federation, FESI, to monitor up-and-coming development within the EU.
