Working Groups

The European OutDoor Group has ‘working groups’ that address specific issues concerning the industry. – Access to the forums is for members of these groups only!

Sleeping Bag Working Group

Set up in 2005 to look at how the industry would be affected by the then new EN13537 norm. In particular the group has concerned itself with the difficulty of communicating information on the new standard to the various stakeholders and over a number of meetings has developed a set of communication documents that you will find available for download on the information page of this site.

Sustainability Working Group

Set up in 2008 to provide a common voice for the industry. The SWG aims to provide business relevant insight and solutions to sustainability challenges facing the outdoor industry and its global stakeholders. Incorporating a comprehensive lifecycle perspective, the SWG’s key areas of focus are:
• Improving the ecological / environmental impact of the industry
• Ensuring the industry is up-to-date on relevant environmental and health and safety legislation as it relates to products and services
• Maintaining dialogue with relevant stakeholders
• Facilitating facts-based communication of sustainability credentials, including review of certification and labelling schemes
• Providing common positions on sustainability topics for the (EU) Outdoor Industry
