Outdoor Market Intelligence Service
What is OMIS?

This new service, created by Sporting Insights in partnership with the European Outdoor Group (EOG), offers a new standard in data gathering and reporting for the outdoor industry.

Monthly sales data from outdoor retailers in the UK, including independent retailers, and major bricks and mortar and online chains, will be visible on an aggregated basis at brand and model level with the ability to drill down at Department, Category or Sub-Category level.

An estimated 60% of the UK outdoor market is already covered, but this is continuing to grow as we continue to further develop the independent retail channel.

Who is this for?

Outdoor brands or some retailers who have wholesale sales. We combine this data to create a wholesale or sell-in report accessible to all data contributors. This is not a report for sell-out or sell-through data, which can be found in the Outdoor Market Intelligence Service.

What is the calendar for SOT and when is the new report released?

Jan: EOG contacts all contributors and EOG members and requests for new data to be uploaded.
Jan - Feb: Data contributors upload data, and new data contributors start onboarding process.
Mar - Apr: Once enough data has been uploaded by data contributors, the new report is released. Once uploaded, process to clean data and publish takes approx. 3 weeks.
May - Nov: EOG and Sporting Insights provide top line data release to show industry developments.
Nov: EOG and Sporting Insights request updated product files for coming year
Nov - Dec: Data contributors provide updated product files.

Things to consider:

If you have wholesale data, you must contribute data to view the report.
Confirm early on you can meet the proposed product file requirements and wholesale data file requirements
EOG will confirm release date for new ReportsSecurity
