What is the programme?

We have launched SOLROS to accelerate the transition to renewable electricity for outdoor industry operations in Vietnam, and deliver fast, measurable carbon reductions.

Why it’s an easy win.

Why SOLROS matters.

In 2026 SOLROS moved under the umbrella of the EOG’s Carbon Reduction Project. This programme directly supports the decarbonisiation efforts of outdoor brands and their supply chain partners. This programme is now accessible to both Tier 1 and Tier 2 sites in Vietnam.

How we will do it.

We enable sites and teams to switch to renewable electricity through two proven, low-barrier approaches:

• Purchasing renewable energy certificates
• Installing rooftop solar where feasible

Geographic Scope

SOLROS builds on Icebug’s 2021 solar initiative, which targeted Tier 1 factories—99% of which were located in Vietnam.

Vietnam’s electricity grid is still ~70% fossil-based, with rapidly growing energy demand and increasing coal use. While Tier 1 factories are not the single biggest emissions hotspot, they still account for ~10% of total apparel and footwear emissions, making them a meaningful and addressable opportunity.

Icebug’s pilot approach estimated climate impact exceeded 5,000 tCO2e saved per year, representing up to 50% of Icebug’s factory-related emissions.

This proven model, delivered with a rigorously selected solar vendor and clean energy experts, now forms the foundation for scaling SOLROS across Vietnam.

Make 2026 the year that the entire supply chain for EOG brands in Vietnam runs 100% on renewable electricity.
