European Outdoor Summit to increase focus on business in 2024
The European Outdoor Group (EOG) has revealed the first details of plans for the 2024 edition of the European Outdoor Summit (EOS). Next year’s summit will be held from 18-19 September in Cambridge in the UK, and is being organised with host national association the Outdoor Industries Association (OIA). The EOG and OIA have committed to building a programme that features even more core business focussed content than in previous years.
First held as a standalone event in 2014, the European Outdoor Summit has developed into a key date on the outdoor industry calendar, moving to different locations every year, and attracting hundreds of senior executives to each summit. EOS is a platform for addressing the biggest issues facing the sector, with leading figures from both within and outside the trade delivering insights and engaging in discussion and debate. In recent years, reflecting changes in wider business and society, the event has put a big focus on CSR and sustainability.
For the tenth anniversary EOS, the agenda will be refreshed. Following feedback from delegates, the programme will take a deeper dive into some core business related topics. The summit will be held at the Cambridge Union Society, the oldest continuously running debating society in the world. The agenda will include content that is tailored for an outdoor sector audience, but which incorporates the latest thinking from the wider business world. The agenda will also include significant CSR and sustainability contributions, led by the EOG’s team of experts.
Andrew Denton, chief executive of the Outdoor Industries Association, comments:
“The OIA is delighted to be a partner of the EOG and bring the European Outdoor Summit to the UK for the second time. Our last event in Sheffield in 2015 was lauded for the quality of its content, and EOS has continued to go from strength to strength since then. We’re determined that 2024’s summit will be the best yet, and basing ourselves in one of the world’s leading centres of debate and thought gives us an unparalleled opportunity to deliver an event that no business leader in the outdoor sector will want to miss.”
The EOG has opened a short online survey about the summit programme, which can be completed at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/GVSWM3W. This will inform the planning and development of the 2024 summit. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for organisations that would like to get involved and support the event.
Toni Clifford, event manager at the European Outdoor Group, adds:
“The European Outdoor Summit is now a well-established and successful event on the industry calendar, but we’re always aiming to improve it for returning and new delegates alike. We’re excited about working with the OIA and select content providers to develop the 2024 programme, and to help us do that, we’re asking those working in the industry to let us know what they would like us to include. If you have views or ideas, please fill in our survey or get in touch directly. I’d also be delighted to speak with anyone who would like to engage with industry leaders by sponsoring the summit.”
Details of ticket packages and the first speakers will be release early in 2024. For all of the latest information about the European Outdoor Summit, visit www.europeanoutdoorsummit.com, or find the event on LinkedIn and X.
