Project background:

The Sustainability Data Exchange (SDEX) project has been running since the beginning of 2023 under the leadership of the European Outdoor Group (EOG) and the German Sporting Goods Industry Association (BSI).

The project deals with the exchange of sustainability data at product level between brands and retailers. Until now, in most cases, extensive Excel spreadsheets and questionnaires had to be completed for each product and for each retail partner. Overall, this process is very time-consuming and inefficient for everyone involved.

As part of the SDEX project, we worked with a project group consisting of retailers and brand representatives to develop a questionnaire to harmonise and facilitate data exchange. The questionnaire was officially published in July 2023 as version 1.0 and underwent further changes the following year to see the launch of version 2.0. All these changes have been very well received by retailers and industry and we are now in a position to launch version 3.0 and consider the delivery of this through a platform, which will be discussed during the webinar.

We look forward to seeing you at the launch event.
