European Outdoor Week to remain in Riva until at least 2029

European Outdoor Group and MagNet Group extend agreement to 2029

Pre-registration opens for 2027 event which will run from 8-13 May

The European Outdoor Group (EOG) and MagNet Group have confirmed that the European Outdoor Week (EOW) will remain in Riva del Garda until at least 2029. Following the success of the first event this year, the two organisations have signed an extension to their partnership agreement that provides certainty to the industry and allows organisations to plan ahead with confidence. The announcement comes at the same time as pre-registration opens for EOW 2027, which will run from 8-13 May.

Held for the first time in 2026, European Outdoor Week brings together key industry platforms into one focused week of events. The project responded to the sector’s demand for fewer calendar commitments, and more effective gatherings that optimise costs and resources.

EOW 2026 incorporated the return of OUTDOOR, the industry’s premier international trade show, which ran alongside Outdoor & Running Business Days (ORBDAYS), and attracted over 280 exhibitors and 2,500 buyers. Other events during EOW included: The second Outdoor Impact Summit, which was attended by over 220 delegates; Outdoor Media Day with 45 brand stands and 250 attendees; the European Outdoor Award ceremony, where 360 people gathered for presentations to winners in a range of product and community categories; Outdoor Activation Days, when over 700 people took part in 27 different experiences; and the Innovation for Outdoor Day within OUTDOOR, showcasing 20 startups to over 40 potential investors. During EOW, the EOG also held its Summer Member Meeting, bringing senior industry leaders to Riva from its membership of over 150 organisations.

Events during the first European Outdoor Week attracted more than 8,000 visitors from over 60 countries, exceeding expectations. Following extremely positive feedback and a range of constructive suggestions, the EOG and MagNet immediately confirmed the dates for 2027 and some changes to the running order. As registration opens for EOW 2027, the two partners have now reached an agreement that allows organisations to make longer term plans for their engagement with the event. EOW 2028 will run from 13-18 May and EOW 2029 from 12-17 May.

EOG Managing Director Christian Schneidermeier comments:

By all measures, the first European Outdoor Week was a big success. The EOG and MagNet delivered the type and format of event that our industry had demanded, and in turn, the industry showed up. EOW clearly demonstrated the value of in person events – we achieve so much more as a sector when we work together, and an essential element of that is actually meeting together. Now, we have a very solid platform, and we need to build on it.
I am delighted that we have reached an agreement with MagNet to return to Riva del Garda for the next three years. We will continue to enhance the format and content, informed by some excellent feedback from industry colleagues, and the certainty provided by this announcement allows everyone to plan ahead with confidence. I am already very excited by the potential for EOW 2027 and beyond, and of course it will be a huge pleasure to keep returning to Riva, which is a stunning setting for our annual outdoor industry gathering.

MagNet CEO Benedetto Sironi comments:

This agreement goes far beyond a simple extension of our partnership: it reflects a shared commitment to the future of the outdoor industry. It also represents an important milestone in a journey that began many years ago. For more than a decade, MagNet has been investing in the development of one of the leading business events for the outdoor industry, continuously evolving its format to meet the changing needs of the market.
The success of the first European Outdoor Week confirmed that the shared vision of MagNet and the European Outdoor Group was the right one: bringing together the industry's key events into one coordinated platform that creates greater value for brands, retailers, media and the entire outdoor community. Looking ahead to 2027 and beyond, our commitment is to continue investing in innovation, quality and international growth. Working side by side with EOG, we will further strengthen European Outdoor Week as the annual meeting point for the global outdoor and sports industry.

Pre-registration is now open for organisations that would like to be involved in events at EOW 2027.
