Human Rights Due Diligence - Improving Workers Well Being - Mammut

Human Rights Due Diligence regulations see that due diligence must be integrated into company policy’s and identify human rights risks faced by workers in their operations, and develop plans to mitigate these risks. They will require companies to go beyond compliance with national regulations and social audit standards. The well-being of workers and their human rights has evolved from being voluntary to being a part of mandatory due diligence.

Last year Michael Farnworth and Charlot Pagel from Mammut researched and published a guide entitled 'Improving Worker Well-Being’. The Guide is aimed at supporting factory managers in understanding the importance of, and implementing measures to improve their worker’s well-being. It has been translated into 18 languages and shared with Mammut's suppliers.

Mammut has kindly shared this fantastic resource with EOG members, so they in turn may share it throughout their own supply chains. By making this guidance common place and understood by work place managers throughout the outdoor sector’s supply chains, it is hoped that it will have an impact on improving human rights in our supply chains and assist with due diligence.

A recording of the webinar can be viewed below and the slides and guide can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

Many thanks again to Michael Farnworth and Mammut for the session today and sharing this resource with the EOG membership and for the support of Fair Wear Foundation.
