• The European Commission has opened the applications for the 2026 edition of the #BeActive EU Sport Awards competition.‍
• Who can apply: eligible organisations based in EU Member States and other Erasmus+ Programme associated countries (individuals aged 18+ may also apply under the Volunteering category)

The European Commission has launched the 2026 edition of the #BeActive EU Sport Awards, which recognise outstanding initiatives that promote sport and physical activity while contributing to health, inclusion, community engagement and shared European values.

Applications can be submitted under five categories:

• Physical Activity
• Inclusion
• Volunteering
• Across Generations
• Peace

In each category, one winner will receive €15,000, while two finalists will each receive €5,000.

The Physical Activity category may be of interest to FESI members, as it rewards initiatives promoting physical activity across education and training establishments, non-formal learning environments, workplaces and local communities. Beyond the financial prize, the awards offer an excellent opportunity to gain visibility at European level and showcase successful initiatives to the wider public and the European Commission.
