SUMMARY

On 14th July, the IMCO and ENVI Committees jointly approved the provisional agreement on the chemicals-related “Omnibus VI” package (see attached document).

MORE INFORMATION

The package introduces amendments to the Regulation on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP).

The provisional agreement was approved with 110 votes in favour, 10 against and 5 abstentions.

NEXT STEPS

The Omnibus VI package is expected to be voted on during the European Parliament’s October plenary session.

Following formal approval by both the European Parliament and the Council, it will enter into force 20 days after its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
