On 29th June,  the European Council formally adopted the AI Omnibus regulation, completing the legislative process for the simplification package.

As a reminder, the regulation delays the application of the AI Act's high-risk rules to 2 December 2027 for stand-alone systems (such as used in employment) and 2 August 2028 for AI embedded in products.

The legislation will enter into force three days after its publication in the Official Journal.
