SUMMARY

• ECHA’s Enforcement Forum has agreed on a new EU-wide enforcement project (REF-16) to check compliance with restrictions on hazardous substances in products and mixtures placed on the EU market.
• Authorities will verify that restricted substances do not exceed legal limits, with a strong focus on non-compliant products, particularly imports and goods sold online.

MORE INFORMATION

Findings may support enforcement of Digital Services Act obligations for online platforms, in cooperation with the European Commission and Member States.

• Inspections are planned for 2028, with a final report expected in 2029.
