MORE INFORMATION:
As part of our commitment to the European Week of Sport, which will take place from 23 to 30 September, FESI is launching its 2026 Sporting Goods Charity Campaign.

This year, the collected sporting goods will support:

  • Younited Belgium: a social inclusion organisation using football to support people experiencing homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, or social exclusion. The initiative helps participants rebuild confidence, social ties, and wellbeing through sport. FESI is also organising a football tournament with Younited on 29 September, with the participation of Commissioner Micallef (registration).
  • European Commissioner’s Ukraine Initiative: as previously communicated, FESI held initial exchanges during the EU Sport Forum with EU Sport Commissioner Glenn Micallef regarding a potential initiative to collect sporting goods in support of Ukrainian communities and individuals affected by the war through sport and physical activity.  This year’s campaign would serve as a pilot initiative, with the possibility of developing and expanding the collaboration further in 2027. The European Commission would also support communication activities around the initiative.

Through these initiatives, donated equipment will directly contribute to increasing access to sport, strengthening community support, and promoting solidarity across Europe. Communication activities accompanying the campaign will also help showcase the positive contribution of the sporting goods industry and the commitment of participating FESI members.

NEXT STEPS:

  • Members willing to participate are invited to fill in this online form by 12 JUNE to indicate the types of goods and quantities they can provide.
  • FESI will contact you to coordinate collection and distribution with the beneficiary organisations once all contributions are confirmed.
