The European Commission has published a new Commission Implementing Decision (see attached), formally citing a set of harmonised standards in the Official Journal, including both newly adopted and previously published standards.

Hereafter is the list of the new additions of harmonized standards:

• EN ISO 10256-1:2024 on protective equipment for use in ice hockey (general requirements),
• EN ISO 10256-2:2024 on head protectors for skaters,
• EN ISO 10256-3:2024 on face and eye protectors for skaters,
• EN ISO 10256-4:2024 on head and face protectors for goalkeepers,
• EN ISO 12312-1:2022 and EN ISO 12312-1:2022/A11:2024on sunglasses for general use,
• EN 12492:2025 on helmets for mountaineers,
• EN 17353:2020+A1:2025 on enhanced visibility clothing,
• EN 17961:2025 on load sharing devices for mountaineering,
• EN 18100:2025 on helmets for ski mountaineers
• EN ISO 21420:2020, EN ISO 21420:2020/A1:2024 on protective gloves.

These harmonised standards will now provide presumption of conformity with the Essential Health and Safety Requirements of the PPE Regulation.
