On 19th March , following several weeks’ worth of delay, the EP INTA Committee adopted the draft reports on the implementation of the tariff measures agreed upon in the EU-US Joint Statement of August 2025.

Both draft reports received a wide majority (29 votes in favour, 9 against, 1 abstention). Crucially, the Committee also voted against entering directly into negotiations with the Council, opting to first have a stronger EP mandate through a Plenary vote and address shortcoming in the Commission's proposal
