FESI Release joint statement on Substances of Concern (SoCs) in the ESPR

We are pleased to share with you the final version of our joint position paper, titled “Avoiding overregulation: A pragmatic approach to Substances of Concern (SoCs) in the ESPR Delegated Act for Textiles,” which has now been officially released.

This joint statement reflects the consolidated views of key stakeholders across the textile value chain and outlines our shared recommendations on the development of SoCs provisions under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). It is the result of collaborative input submitted individually during the JRC's 2nd Milestone consultation and emphasizes the need for regulatory clarity, harmonized data tracking, and a stepwise implementation approach.

As of today, our advocacy efforts on this important topic officially begin. We will be actively engaging with EU institutions and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that the industry’s concerns and recommendations are taken into account as the Delegated Act is being developed.

We would like to thank all involved parties for their valuable contributions and continued support. Should you have any questions or wish to coordinate on outreach activities, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
