Opportunity for members to engage in TRUSTex trekking jacket pilot supporting ESPR & Digital Product Passport

Within the EU-funded TRUSTex project, in which FESI participates, we are launching a pilot initiative that aims to demonstrate practical ecodesign strategies for textiles and contribute to the development of upcoming ESPR and Digital Product Passport (DPP) requirements. (more info attached)

As part of this initiative, the project partners will co-develop and manufacture a small batch (~50 units) of high-performance trekking jackets designed specifically to test circularity approaches and provide real-world insights for future EU policy and standards.

This pilot will help validate several TRUSTex developments, including:

  • Ecodesign strategies for circular textiles
  • Integration of Digital Product Passport (DPP) solutions
  • Sorting, disassembly and recycling technologies
  • Data collection supporting LCA and eco-modulation approaches for EPR schemes

The jackets will be designed as functional, modular, and highly recyclable garments, using primarily recycled polyester materials and components enabling disassembly.
CENTEXBEL in chareg of this part is currently looking for one or multiple industry partner(s) able to support the design and manufacturing of the pilot batch (approx. 50 jackets). This is an opportunity to:

  • Contribute directly to policy-relevant demonstrations influencing ESPR ecodesign requirements
  • Test DPP integration and circular product design approaches
  • Collaborate with leading research and industry partners across Europe
  • Position your company at the forefront of circular textile innovation

Further details about the concept and the pilot are included in the attached presentation.

If your company may be interested in participating in this initiative, please get in touch with katy.stevens@europeanoutdoorgroup.com before 19th March.
